Many thanks to Alan Mawyer for telling us about this episode of In the Americas with David Yetman. You’ll find it in column two of row four of the page we’ve linked to.
Alan wrote us this about the show:
I had no idea there was a large Japanese population in Brazil. What they built and endured in the Amazon is amazing and demonstrates they know the correct way to do things. They might not have invented sustainable agriculture, but they have been using it for a long time. Who else would have saved sections of the old rainforest to teach the younger generation what it is. This whole series is great, but I found this episode particularly fascinating.
